About First Light Optical

 First Light Optical, located inside of Medical Eye Specialists new building, opened December 18th, 2023. Although, a "new" business, we are excited to join forces with Kelli and Andy from Baker Opticians. Here at First Light Optical we strive to provide  the best patient care in Bozeman and surrounding areas.

 Kelli Anderson:  Kelli was born and raised in Bozeman and has lived in the valley all of her 52 years. She started learning Optical from her Dad, Mearl Baker, at Baker Opticians at the ripe old age of 12. Her favorite thing over the years of being an Optician is trouble shooting, learning new things and developing long lasting relationships with her patients. Outside of work Kelli loves to golf, boat, paddleboard, ski and spend time with her family and pup Chipper! 

Andy Squires: Andy has been an optician for 22 years. A native of Redmond, WA, he has proudly called Montana home for the last 15 years with his wife Olivia.  He prides himself on his desire to get to know his patients and recommending the best eyewear for their needs. Outside of work you can find him either at the ski hill, enjoying the backroads of Montana, old railroads or biking local trails. 

Taylor Orcutt: Taylor started her career with First Light when we opened and has become a wonderful, knowledgeable Optician. She really enjoys problem solving, helping patients see their best and forming long lasting relationships with her patients. She was born and raised in Butte, MT. She has lived in Bozeman since attending and graduating MSU. In her free time, she enjoys league bowling, spending time exploring the great Montana outdoors, and spoiling her sweet pup, Loki. 

Cara Madewell: Cara began her optical career in Ohio, where she discovered a passion for helping people see their best. She has continued that passion in MT and we are honored to have her as of the First Light team.  Outside of work, she is a proud Mom to three adventurous boys who keep life exciting with her husband Phil. When not in the optical world, you'll find Cara exploring Montana, horseback riding, running her small business, CM Designs, enjoying local music artists or spending quality time with her family.

We offer a full range of eye glass services, including: 

frames, lenses, adjustments, fittings, and repairs.  

Insurance: First Light Optical is not contracted with any insurance companies. However, we are happy to provide you with a patient summary form that you can submit for reimbursements. Patients are responsible for contacting their own insurance to inquire about out of network benefits.   

Cancellation: If you cancel your order for your eyeglasses more than 24 hours after placing the order, there will be a cancelation fee of half the price of lenses. Your eyeglasses are a custom medical device made to your RX and we cannot stop the process once they are started.

Payment:  Payment for glasses is expected at time the order is placed. Unless other arrangements are made.
